Hi, I'm Darcy! I'm a mama of 2, play-based learning enthusiast, and elementary school psychologist.

I wholeheartedly believe in the benefits of play-based and experimental learning for children. Sensory bins are awesome because they foster creative, imaginative play and provide exposure to and experimentation with varying textures and materials, all while containing the mess of exploratory learning. There are no rules or expectations for play (other than "keep it in the bin!"), so kids are free to explore countless methods of play within one small bin. Sensory bins encourage imaginative play, with opportunities for independent, side-by-side, or cooperative play with other children, depending on the situation. Various materials and tools included in our bins provide practice with important skills masked in play, such as sorting, counting, building, pinching, grasping, scooping, and creating endless unique imaginative play scenarios, all while experiencing textures and play not available with typical children's toys or in everyday experiences for kids.

My son loved his first ever sensory bin, introduced at age 2.5. He played creatively and independently for much longer than he had with any other type of toy. When I started searching locally and online for varied sensory bin options to expand his collection, I wasn't satisfied with what I found, and so Psyched Sensory was born! I started creating themed bins, all of which have been fully tested and approved in house!

I have since expanded to include more products, including Seek & Find jars and playdough jars. All Psyched Sensory products are created with exploration in mind, and are intended to provide children with invaluable opportunities to play without parameters. Our products are great for use anytime quieter play is needed at home (think: younger sibling naptime, dinner prep), to keep at a grandparents' house, or to take on vacation, to name a few. Our Seek & Find jars are perfect for on the go entertainment as well (think: airplanes, car rides, restaurants).

You know your child and their interests best. Specific age ranges for interest in our bins and products may vary individually, however, because our products contain small parts, they are intended for children 3+ and those who no longer put items into their mouths. Supervision during play is always recommended.
